ATS members have been keeping themselves busy, with Nuix representing New South Wales at the annual Innovation Shoot Out at G'Day USA: Australia Week. As a result, Nuix has received great press both in Australia and in the US, and has also announced a new US partnership with eClaris. Please see story below for more details.

Nuix

ATS member Nuix Pty Ltd has represented NSW in the final of the Innovation Shootout in San Francisco as part of G'Day USA - and secured a major US business deal as a result. Nuix, a software technology company, has spent the past nine years developing and refining the world's most advanced electronic investigation software.

Airborne Windsports

Following a recent ATS-supported visit to the Middle East, Newcastle-based ATS member Airborne Windsports Pty Ltd has already won orders from Dubai for two microlight aircraft and one glider. The value of this contract is $98,500.

MoniTec

ATS member MoniTec Pty Ltd signed a MOU with Shanghai Industrial Trading Co. Ltd (SIT) during a recent ATS supported visit to China. SIT will look after MoniTec’s business interests in China by opening up markets for MoniTec’s products in the poultry industry, through major Chinese poultry companies and organisations. SIT will also be managing product distribution through existing distributors throughout China.

Front Foot Media Solutions



ATS member Front Foot Media Solutions Pty Ltd has received two nominations in the Best Mobile Product or Service category at the 15th annual Australia Interactive Media Association (AIMIA) Awards to be held on 13 March 2009 in Sydney. AIMIA (www.aimia.com.au) is the peak industry body for interactive content and digital media in Australia.

Argus Solutions

ATS Alumni member and listed company Argus Solutions Ltd has announced that it has won a contract with the NSW Department of Corrective Services for the supply of a comprehensive identity management solution making use of both fingerprint and iris recognition biometric technologies. The order is valued at over $240,000, and builds on the capabilities delivered in existing Cornerstone sites such as the Department of Defence.

ATS Alumni member Atmail Pty Ltd has signed a contract with the Rwandan government to design, supply and install a messaging and mail migration system using Atmail hardware and software.

Paymate

ATS Alumni member Paymate Pty Ltd has announced the launch of a new online payment service for US-domiciled sellers, to go live in February, 2009. At the same time, Paymate announced its integration into the world’s largest online marketplace, www.ebay.com, as an approved payment provider invited by eBay. Paymate provides secure, reliable and innovative Internet-based payment services to buyers in 57 countries and sellers in Australia, New Zealand and the US.

NEW MEMBERS
Avalias Pty Ltd

The "CrowdFlow crowd simulation and visualisation" technology, developed by Chatswood-based Avalias Pty Ltd has been accepted for ATS membership. CrowdFlow supports logistical, security and emergency planning for major events and other situations where large crowds are present. The technology enables organisations to see the effects of their plans for controlling large crowds.

The product was used by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority to plan for the Sydney Harbour Bridge 75th anniversary celebrations, and by Railcorp in Sydney to prepare for 2008 World Youth Day crowds at railway station precincts.

TTG Transportation Technology Pty Ltd



The "Freightmiser energy saver for rail freight" technology, developed by Sydney-based TTG Transportation Technology Pty Ltd has been accepted for membership. Freightmiser is a tactical driver assist algorithm that optimises the energy consumption of long distance trains while maintaining on-time running.

The Freightmiser technology takes into account track gradient, curve, train size and speed limits based on GPS location, with claimed fuel savings of 6% to 16%. The technology can be retro-fitted to existing stock. TTG has an agreement with Australian company freight company Pacific National to use the product on its rail fleet.

2009 iAwards– Nominations now open

Nominations are now open for the annual iAwards, Australia’s leading ICT industry awards. Run by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), this international awards program recognises the achievements of Australian technology innovators.

There are 16 award categories including sustainability, government, education, media, healthcare and security. Special awards will also be given for students, start-ups, exporters and community value.

The iAwards provide unparalleled marketing opportunities and business credibility, lifting the profile of finalists and winners in a competitive market. State and territory winners will compete nationally and national winners will then be invited to represent Australia to compete with the best in the Asia Pacific region.
