IPscape wins CeBIT award

ATS Member IPscape received the prize for Excellence in Communications at the recent CEBIT trade show in Sydney.

Animal Logic



ATS Alumni member
Animal Logic has announced it has won a contract with Sony Inc for the special effects used in the Sony Playstation “Chains of Olympus” series of games. Animal Logic’s software was used to create the animation, in collaboration with Los Angeles-based Deutsch Inc. The software went on sale in the US market in March 2008.

RECRUITadvantage



ATS member
RECRUITadvantage Pty Ltd has announced new initiatives assisted by the ATS Export Support Grant program.

RECRUITadvantage, which makes turboRECRUIT, has launched a new data centre facility in London to service EU and US clients. The company is pursuing aggressive growth this year and currently has a team in UK, Switzerland, and Germany closing lucrative business deals.

Axolotl

ATS Alumni member Axolotl is a specialist metal finishing company that produces unique metal coatings that give the appearance of solid metal. Headquartered in Sydney, the company has expanded its operations internationally, with licensed operators now located in Asia, the UAE, the EU and the US. A new Axolotl license has just been sold in Italy, with the factory based in Modena.

Calumo Group

ATS member CALUMO Group and performance management solution specialist continues to win new projects in Australia, the UK and the US with the latest version of its performance management suite, CALUMO. With assistance from the ATS Export Support Grant program, the company is expanding rapidly, employing more than 50 staff in Australia, with an office in UK and one planned for later this year in the US. Since an ATS facilitated business trip to the US in late 2007, the company has secured contracts valued so far in excess of $100,000.

Card Access Services

ATS member Card Access Services provides remote banking and payments services for small business users of internet and front-counter purchases.
 
The company has announced that it has won a contract to install an ETx Payment Gateway to service the Brunei Government Ministry of Finance e-commerce payment systems and the national Carrier "TelBru" payment systems. Five independent local banks will be connected to the systems. The contract was a direct consequence of ATS assistance that allowed the company to exhibit at CommunicAsia in 2006.
 



ASP Plastics


ATS Alumni member
ASP Plastics has achieved strong national and international growth, particularly within ASP Healthcare.
 
When ASP Healthcare first joined the ATS program in 2004 it was selling its range of personal sharps containers into most parts of Australia and held the government contracts in both New South Wales and Western Australia.  In addition it had experienced limited success in the export markets with trial orders having been shipped into several countries. 
 



Nuix

 

ATS member Nuix and accounting company Ferrier Hodgson Hong Kong have announced a partnership that will use the Nuix eDiscovery forensic software to reduce the time, risk and cost to undertake corporate investigations for financial institutions, law firms and corporations.

 BioBusiness Proof of Concept funding

The 2008 funding round for the New South Wales Government’s
BioBusiness Proof of Concept Grant is now open and closes on Friday 1 August 2008.

The BioBusiness Proof of Concept Grant helps NSW life science companies take projects from research to early stage commercialisation. The program supports proof of concept projects to stimulate innovation and drive productivity in the life science industry.

What is available?

The BioBusiness Proof of Concept Grant funds 50 per cent of eligible project expenditure up to a maximum of $100,000. Up to 10 grants will be made in each year.

NEW MEMBER


Smart Digital Optics



The “Optical Fibre Electric Current Sensor” technology developed by
Smart Digital Optics Pty Ltd, located at the Australian Technology Park, has been accepted for ATS membership.

Originally developed at the Photonics Cooperative Research Centre, the technology uses optical fibre technology and electronics to measure electrical currents remotely. The process has application in electrolytic smelting and high voltage AC and DC measurement. The process is being used locally in the mining industry by Xstrata and Ampcontrol, and interest has been shown by overseas interests including Siemens.
