Preparations are well under way for the NSW Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD) stand at the Security 2008 Conference and Exhibition.

Airborne Windsports |

 |
Hunter-based ATS member Airborne Windsports recently secured $350,000 in orders from European Union countries at the Blois Microlight Airshow in France. The company exhibited its microlight and ultralight aircraft in a visit that was assisted by an ATS Export Support Grant. The Blois airshow was the first opportunity for Airborne to display its complete range of aircraft to the French market through local distributor Veliplane.

Fluffy Spider |

ATS member Fluffy Spider Technologies (FST), a world leading provider of user interface technologies, and Arphic Technology (Arphic), the Taiwan-based specialists in multilingual font technologies, have announced the formation of a joint research, development and marketing alliance.
The alliance will benefit original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs) and end-users of consumer, commercial, industrial and medical devices by enabling eye-catching graphics and (optional) multimedia capabilities, intuitive multilingual interfaces, and also reducing device costs.

BluGlass |

 |
ATS member and next generation lighting pioneer BluGlass Limited has opened its pilot manufacturing plant in Sydney. The plant will be used to demonstrate its light emitting diode technology and facilitate licensing.
BluGlass is commercialising a unique Australian-bred manufacturing technology known as Remote Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition (RPCVD) to reduce the cost of Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor wafers. GaN wafers are a core component of high brightness Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) for which there is a US$4 billion market, expected to treble to US$12 billion by 2012.

ConnXion |

 |
ATS Alumni member ConnXion has signed an agreement with Simply Energy, one of Australia’s largest energy providers, in South Australia and Victoria. The three year deal will provide multi-channel billing services to Simply Energy’s nearly 400,000 customer base.
ConnXion’s core business is to produce and distribute documents such as bills, invoices and statements across multiple channels such as email, web, fax and SMS as well as traditional post, in addition to the archiving, presentment and payment of the document.

ATS Alumni members Zylotech and BQT Solutions, which two months ago announced a joint venture operation, have already achieved a significant win. They have been selected to provide a facilities protection solution to the Indian operations of Foxconn Technologies. Foxconn is one of the world's leading providers of joint design, joint development, manufacturing, assembly, and after sales services to computer, communications, and consumer electronics companies.

Beltronics Longreach & BQT Solutions |

 |
ATS members Beltronics Longreach and BQT Solutions have signed a distribution agreement allowing BQT to sell the Beltronics Bellon IP intercom system in the Middle East, India, and Pakistan. The deal gives BQT access to the Beltronics system, which is the first intercom system to use data, voice, and VoIP technology to provide services in residential apartments and gated communities. The Bellon IP-enabled system will integrate with the BQT SmaX access control systems.

Premier's NSW Export Awards

The Premier's NSW Export Awards is an annual program which aims to recognise excellence in the export of goods and service by NSW business. The Awards acknowledge the important contribution of businesses to the economy through job creation and increased prosperity for the community and for the state.
The Premier’s NSW Export Awards are managed by the Australian Institute of Export and supported by many sponsors, in particular the Department of State and Regional Development, whose assistance makes these awards possible.
Outstanding NSW companies such as The Wiggles, Taronga Zoo, ResMed, Byron Bay Cookie Company, Bellata Gold and aussieBum have all been recognised for their outstanding export success.

The technology is a steel reinforcing bar coupling system used in reinforced concrete. The process allows reinforcing bars to be interlocked, requiring no welding, and saving time and capital during building construction. The product is commercially available. |
