Welcome to the July edition of the NSW ATS newsletter.

Tomorrow night, Thursday 9 July, ATS and ANZATech are co-hosting an evening networking event "Good to Great: Where's Your Company?" with ANZA CEO Viki Forrest and Australian entrepreneurs who have participated in ANZA's Gateway and Fast Track to the US programs. They’ll provide a brief talk and networking session devoted to the decision making, risk taking and leadership qualities that make good companies into great ones. The event is free, from 6 - 8 pm at the Grace Hotel and you MUST register to attend.

ATS and DSRD are sponsoring Tech23, an exciting initiative supporting innovative SMEs. Tech23 is all about bringing young innovators and experienced entrepreneurs and investors together! Tech23 will give 23 young companies the chance to present their innovation to the industry, providing opportunities for collaboration and commercialisation. 23 companies will be offered a four minute spot to explain their business model. Industry leaders will provide insights into investment and business opportunities.

The CommunityManager.NET Web application platform developed by ATS Alumni member Elcom Technology Pty Ltd has been selected to form the basis of a website being developed by the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston. This new website will allow departments at the institute to publish content on the site, while maintaining its visual integrity.

ATS Alumni member and ASX-listed USCOM Ltd has announced a new peer reviewed publication in the prestigious US Anaesthesia and Analgesia Journal. The publication reported on the company’s non-invasive heart monitoring technology, and its potential application in heart failure subjects with artificial hearts.

TiE, the Global Network of Entrepreneurs, is a global not-for-profit organisation that provides a platform to allow entrepreneurs and others interested in economic value creation to come together to share their ideas.

TiE Sydney will run a Pitching Competition on July 15 from which four finalists will go into a Business Plan Competition on August 12. From this competition, TiE will select a winner from Sydney to attend the TiE Entrepreneurs Conference in Delhi on September 16-18, 2009, free of charge. TiE is offering a free economy class airfare to New Delhi and free entry to the conference.
