Welcome to the February edition of the ATS NSW Newsletter |
It’s been a busy couple of months here at the NSW ATS, following the launch of the Innovation Pathways Program in December. The Pathways program, developed to complement the ATS program and the Federal Government’s Commercialisation Australia initiative, has already attracted a large number of applications.
On Tuesday, 23 February, we’ll be holding the first of our ATS-Innovation Pathways Seminars, with ATS Patron Spruson & Ferguson. This seminar will focus on Intellectual Property Strategies for Entrepreneurs.
Congratulations to ATS member Solar-Gem for their win at G’Day USA, and to last year’s ATS Patrons’ Award winner Nuix, on securing a major contract with the SEC in the US.

Nuix wins major US contract |

Corporations have experienced massive growth in the data they generate, creating an equally massive headache for the investigators who sift through that data when pursuing corporate crimes.
But that growth has also presented a big opportunity for the Australian software developer Nuix, whose electronic search and discovery tools have been specifically designed to rapidly process terabytes of data.
Nuix was the winner of the 2009 Australian Technology Showcase’s Patrons Award, and its prominence in the emerging market for electronic evidence discovery was confirmed in January when it won a five year contract with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC performs a similar role to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, with a mission to protect investors and maintain orderly and efficient markets. It will now be using Nuix as a frontline tool in its investigations.

Commercial Diving Technology Pty Ltd |
Commercial Diving Technology's Hull Surface Treatment (HST) does not remove or damage antifouling paints. The cleaning service uses heat via thermal shock to kill marine algae and weed growth without its immediate removal. It is later washed from the hull by the natural pounding forces of 'open sea conditions' after the vessel has left the servicing port or harbour. HST has received a number of international awards and accolades that continue to underpin the importance of this 'ground breaking' technology.
